What is the culture of Turning Point like? What kind of 'vibe' are we trying to create as a church? This is a good start.
Authentic - It’s not always easy being a Christ follower and there is no one who has it all figured out. So, we aren’t going to try to fake it or pretend our way through it. We want to be people who are genuine, honest and open about what it means to follow Christ.
Missional-We believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, the good news, is for everyone. That means we exist for those who are still not in relationship with Christ and we will serve others both locally and globally so they may have an opportunity to know Jesus Christ personally.
Passionate - This is an attitude that says we won’t take ourselves too seriously but we will take God very seriously. Because of who Jesus is, we want to do everything for him with excellence so everyone can experience the life change that Christ brings.
Multicultural - We desire to be a church who bridges the cultural barriers that exist in our community and world today. Through serving in our community and building relationships, we hope to be a small reflection of the cultural diversity of what we will see in heaven one day.
Come as you are - Christ accepts us for who we are, no matter what junk we have. So, we have a ‘come and see attitude’ where anyone is welcome to pursue Christ. Just remember, Christ accepts us for who we are, he just doesn't want us to stay that way!
Welcoming-We want to always create an environment that is others focused. If you are new to faith or newer to church, our hope is you feel warmly welcomed in this community.
Trust - We believe this is the bedrock of all relationships! With that in mind we will strive to build and strengthen relational trust within our community and in our ministry partnerships. We also want to demonstrate to Christ followers how to invest in building deep trust in their personal relationships in their homes, in the church and who they do life with each day.
Unity-We will focus on matter most in the gospel of Jesus Christ and not allow preferences to stand in the way of reaching people for Christ. We want to live in the tension of living lives full of grace and lives full of truth just like Jesus did.
Excellence-Whatever we do, we want to do really, really well. We don’t believe we need to put on a show, but we do believe that when we do things well it honors God and inspires people.
Courageous - Who wants to look back on their life full of regrets? Answer: No one! As a church we don’t want to live that way either. So, we will attempt to make choices that are courageous in following God rather than playing it safe.
