Covid-19 Response

Dear TPC Family,

With the heightened awareness and public concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), as well as the ongoing seasonal flu virus and the common cold, we want to assure you that public health and safety concerns are our highest priority.  I want you to know that our leadership has been talking with medical professionals, leaders and other churches in regards to precautions.

First, I want to remind us that God encourages us not to fear. The Bible actually tells us not to fear 365 times. While the virus is a reason for concern and precaution, we should not fear.  No matter what circumstances may come in our lives, we truly are safe in Christ. I wanted to pass along two great perspectives on Fear and Faith as well as about being anxious as Christ-followers.  It’s my hope that you will take the time to read both of these and be encouraged to know that we are called to stand firm in Jesus.

As of this writing, we still plan to gather together for our regular service at 10 am this Sunday. In our commitment to provide a safe environment to welcome you and your family, please be aware of these key reminders and adjustments we have made temporarily:

  • The best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and the flu is what many of us already know;  wash your hands thoroughly and frequently. Our location at the High School has plenty of places to wash your hands before and after service.

  • For the time being, our greeters will not offer a handshake at the door but we will continue to extend warm smiles and kind words.

  • We will also temporarily remove the time of greeting from the service. Please make every effort to greet one another before and after the service—especially our guests. And when greeting guests, it’s probably best not to extend a handshake. Maybe a nod or an elbow bump?

  • At TPC Kids, after each gathering, our volunteers sterilize the surfaces and toys. We will continue to follow our standard health protocols by not admitting any child with an elevated temperature (above 99.6º F). A child must also be fever free for 24 hours before returning to TPC Kids. You can help by closely monitoring children for any symptoms.

  • Finally, as a way to serve our body during this season, please stay at home if you feel sick.

Again, let’s remember that our hope is in Christ!  Together let’s trust Him, and also pray that the church here and across the world would be a powerful testimony to the gospel in the midst of this present challenge.
