Warrior Notes-Someone To Protect

Here are the notes to Pastor Steve’s message for week #1 of “Warrior.” Feel free to print them and follow along during the online message at 9:55 a.m on Facebook.

Where does our warrior’s heart come from?

  1. We look at the _________________ of God.

  2. We look at the _________________ of Jesus.

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.  This is my God, and I will praise him—my father’s God, and I will exalt him!  3 The Lord is a warrior; Exodus 15:2-3 (NLT)

“Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword.  Matt 10:34

11 Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. 12 His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. 13 He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. 15 From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress.16 On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.  Rev. 19:11-16

One thing God has given to every warrior.

  1. God has given you _________________ to _________________.

After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.” Nehemiah 4:14

For fun:

  • What movie persona do you think best describes standing up to fight for his people or his family?

How do you protect?

  1. You protect _________________.

  2. You protect _________________.

  3. You protect _________________.

  4. You protect _________________.

Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in his sight.”  2 Samuel 10:12

Questions for reflection:

  • Who is that God has called you to stand up for?

  • Who is it that he has called you to protect?

  • In which arena of life do I need to be a better protector?
