Where does your warrior heart come from?

  1. The _________________ of God.

  2. The _________________ of Jesus.

I love you, Lord; you are my strength2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.  He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.  Psalm 18:1-2

Jesus went straight to the Temple and threw out everyone who had set up shop, buying and selling. He kicked over the tables of loan sharks and the stalls of dove merchants. He quoted this text: “My house was designated a house of prayer;  You have made it a hangout for thieves.”  Matthew 21:12-13 (MSG)

Two things that God has given to every warrior:

  1. _________________ to _________________.

  2. A _________________ to _________________.

When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.  Luke 9:1

  • What is a kingdom (an idea) you’ve been told to fight for, but it left you empty or unfulfilled?

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?  “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. 34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.  Matthew 6:25-27, 31-33 (NLT)

Questions for reflection

  1. What is one area of your life that honors Christ and his kingdom right now?

  2. How are you distracted from honoring Christ and His Kingdom right now?

  3. How will you overcome that distraction?
