How we can pray for you

As a church, we continually are thinking of new ways to connect with you and to serve you in creative ways as we practice social distancing and engage online as a church.

When it comes to prayer, we want to do the same. We believe prayer is powerful. James says it this way:

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
— James 5:16

But how can we pray corporately for one another when are living in a current digital world? Easy! Technology has given us a great way to stay connected even when we are not sitting in the same room. And honestly, prayer is powerful whether it’s in a church building, in your house, or online.

Here are some ways that we can pray for one another and be prayed for.

  1. Join a Zoom Group. Belonging to a group means that you have a small group of people in your life from Turning Point that are connected with you. They come alongside you in your faith in Christ and each group takes time weekly to pray for the needs of one another.

  2. Use our Digital Connection Card. We have a prayer team that is dedicated to praying for whatever prayer request you send in. Some of the most encouraging words we hear from others at Turning Point are in response to our prayer team praying for the needs in their life.

  3. Zoom Prayers after Sunday service. This is NEW. Each week 1-2 members of our prayer team will be online after the service to pray for you. Here are some basic questions and answers as we take this next step.

    • Q. How does this work?

    • A. First of all, make sure you download Zoom and familiarize yourself with how it works BEFORE you attempt to connect for prayer. During the Sunday service, you will see the link, the ID and password in the comments section to access that time of prayer. You’ll need to click on the link and enter the ID and password to connect with someone for prayer.

    • Q: How can I be assured that this is a private prayer time?

    • A: First of all, no one can enter our zoom prayer group unless they have both the ID and password. Secondly, our prayer team leader will only allow ONE person into the prayer group at a time.

    • Q: What if I can’t get through?

    • A:  Your zoom call will be received by the prayer team host but they will keep you in the “waiting room” until they are done praying with the person preceding your call. We would ask you to please be patient in the zoom “waiting room.”  To maintain privacy we can only pray with one person at a time.

    • Q: How long will the prayer time be open?

    • A: For at least 20 minutes after the conclusion of our online service.

    • Q: Who is praying for me?

    • A: There will be one person to pray for you online. Typically we have a man praying for the men, a woman praying for the women.

Thank you for the privilege of letting us pray for you!
