Message Notes-Big Opportunity

A quick recap on the church:

The simple message of the church is this:  

  • Jesus _______________ for my sins.  Jesus was _______________.  Jesus _______________ from the dead.  Jesus is _______________ today. 

We have to resist the gravitational pull towards _______________.  

  • The bottom line is this:  We should not make it _______________ for people who are turning to God.  

“It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.”  Acts 15:19

I need our church to be bold.  How?

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. When he got there, he ran across Philip and said, “Come, follow me.”  Philip went and found Nathanael and told him, “We’ve found the One Moses wrote of in the Law, the One preached by the prophets. It’s Jesus, Joseph’s son, the one from Nazareth!” Nathanael said, “You’ve got to be kidding.”  But Philip said, “Come, see for yourself.”  John 1:43-46 (MSG)

Why is inviting important?  

  1. You need to see this ____________  _______________ through your ____________  _______________.  

  2. So our church doesn’t become _______________   _______________.  


I need our church to be bold.  How?

  1. I need you to be bold in _______________  _______________. 

  2. I need you to be bold in _______________.   

  3. I need you to be bold in _______________  _______________.  

But since you excel in everything; in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Corinthians 8:7

Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe.  28 “Therefore I want you to know that God’s salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen!”  30 For two whole years, Paul stayed there in his own rented  31 He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance.  Acts 28:24, 28, 30-31

  • Let’s all take it up a notch and give boldly, serve boldly, and invite boldly.
