Your People Are Out There
Have you ever watched your favorite sports team by yourself? It’s just not the same as watching with a group of friends. Have you ever wondered why that is? What if we weren’t created to be alone?
God wired us with a desire for community (Genesis 2:18). Don’t we all want people to celebrate with when life is good and to be there for us when life gets hard?
Here’s the good news: Those people are out there.
We call them Life Groups, which is a group of friends you live life with. We all want those great friends, but the initial discomfort of finding them sounds overwhelming and intimidating. The thing is, joining a Life Group can feel awkward at first. It’s scary to sign up and show up.
But the reward of relationships is worth the risk of rejection.
When you join a Life Group, you won’t find the perfect friends—because they don’t exist. But you will find potential friends. And you will experience the presence of God. Jesus promised us in Matthew 18:20 that where two or more are gathered, He will be with us. So if you want to be around Jesus, you need to be around people.
You don’t have to live life alone. You can find friends if you’ll choose to step out of your comfort zone.
