The challenge:

• The gravitational pull of every local church is back toward the ________________.

Our church’s mission is simple.  

“To help people experience a life changing relationship through Jesus Christ.”

You can tell if a church is on mission with this question:  

• How does the church pray?  

  • How a church prays indicates if ________________ has ________________. 

• How a Christ follower prays indicates if ________________ have ________________. 

What are your prayers like? 

We are on a ________  ________________ and we pray ______  ________________ prayers. 

Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. 6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”  Acts 3:4-6 (NLT)

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved.”  13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. 14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. Acts 4:13-14

When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.  29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.  Acts 4:24, 29

Here is a challenging question for Jesus followers:  

• Have you ever in your life prayed for boldness? 

• Do you remember the last time you prayed for boldness? 

Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”  31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.  32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. [Unified on what matters most] No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.  Acts 4:30-32
