Message Notes-Hope And Grace

Here are the notes to Pastor Steve’s message for week #2 of “Love Where You Live” on Sunday, March 28 2021. Feel free to print them and follow along during the online message at 9:55 a.m on Facebook and YouTube.

Last week's key verse:

  • Love your neighbor as yourself.  Matthew 22:39

  • Jesus said it this way.  “Love ___________________ and love ___________________.”

A question to think about:

  • Are your neighbors glad you’re next door?

Who then will harm you if you are devoted to what is good?  14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness, you are blessed.  Do not fear what they fear or be intimidated, 15 but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.  16 Yet do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that when you are accused, those who disparage your good conduct in Christ will be put to shame.  1 Peter 3:13-16

Character Qualities of A Christian Neighbor

  1. ___________________  ___________________.

  2. ___________________  ___________________.

Great questions to think through:

  • What is hope?

  • Why do I have hope?

  • When people see your life, do they see ___________________?

“Love is the ultimate apologetic.”  Art Lindsey

We must get better at ___________________ rather than ___________________.

When was the last time you had a real conversation with someone far from God?

“Most of us have been raised on a model of Christianity that says, ‘Share the truth and live your life.’  Yet, what Peter is prescribing is a model of Christianity that says, ‘Share your life and live the truth.’”

Questions for personal application:

  1. What kind of neighbor are ___________________?

  2. When your neighbors look at you, do they see ___________________  ___________________?

  3. When your neighbors look at you do they see ___________________  ___________________?

  4. How can you demonstrate those two qualities to your neighbors this week?
